Will my existing license and activation work. Can I activate with a master disk. Get help for Rockwell Software master disk and FactoryTalk software activations without picking up the phone. Jan 18, 2008 Yes, just leave the activation on the master disk, when you start RSLogix, it will read the activation off of the floppy drive. Get the USB dongle from Rockwell 2. Use a master disk in your desktop. We have a similar situation. We have the license installed on a laptop, but I can use an older RSLogix5000 master disk (even though the license is already removed from it) to allow me to run it on my desktop.
I am new to this web site so I will try to be brief, please do not tell me to buy a legit copy etc.I have worked with Logix based software most of my life.
Rockwell Master Disk Activation
Early on I received a key that was on a USB stick that allowed me to transfer the key onto my notebook. RSLOGIX5000 V19 on a 64-bit operating system. (enabled the key software to run as an administrator and then transfer as XP compatible) No problems the software ran fine for 1 year (I do own a legitimate key as this was purchased software).
Anyway along comes version V20 and it has Factory Talk activation V3.5 when I installed this I now have to register my software on the internet to allow this to work.
I lost V19 as the Activation is now controlled by Factory Talk.
After removing all the RSLogix software and re-installing RSLOGIX5000 V19 I am left with the following conclusion.
Don't bother with RSLOGIX5000 V20
and 
If Factory Talk Activation can be left at V3.2 (came with V19) then perhaps RSLOGIX5000 V20 can run with the same key.
Maybe I am barking up the wrong tree.
